Men's BasketballMen's Basketball Tabbed Second In CACC, According to Division II Bulletin October 18, 2007 BEAVERTON, Ore.-The Post University men's basketball team, was picked to finish second in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), by the Division II Bulletin, a monthly publication that covers NCAA Division II basketball, earlier this week. The publication, picked Caldwell College to finish atop the standings in the CACC in its preseason preview, followed by the Eagles, and Philadelphia University. Last season, the Eagles won 12 of its final 15 games, earning a share of their second CACC Regular Season Championship, in four years. The Eagles finished the 2006-07 campaign with a 17-12 overall record and a 14-6 mark in the CACC, which earned Head Coach Mike Donnelly Coach of the Year honors. The Eagles return 11 letter winners and four starters from last year's team, including leading scorer senior swingman Arthur Robertson. He was selected to the All-CACC third-team after averaging 13.1 points per game, and a team-leading 7.0 rebounds per contest. The Far Rockaway, N.Y. native enters the season needing 44 points to reach the 1,000-point plateau in his collegiate career. In addition, the Eagles return four of its five leading scorers from a year ago, including junior forward AJ Reitter who was an All-CACC honorable mention selection, finishing second on the team in scoring with 11.9 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per contest. Senior forward, Peter Lawal was third on the team in scoring with 10.6 points a game and was second on the team in rebounding with 6.6 rebounds per contest. Lawal was a All-CACC honorable mention choice. Junior center Jesse Iyalekhue averaged 8.4 points and 5.2 rebounds a contest, and finished sixth in the CACC and 70th in the NCAA in blocked shots with 1.48 per game (40 total). The 2007-08 season tips off at Merrimack College on Thursday, Nov. 15. Post will then travel to the Purple Knight Classic November 17-18, at the University of Bridgeport, to face American International and Bryant College, before returning to the Drubner Center to face C.W. Post University on Tuesday, Nov. 20. Fans will also get the first chance to see the 2007-08 version of the men's basketball team on Sunday, Oct. 28 for the annual Green-White Scrimmage.
