Men's BasketballMen's Basketball Picks Up 70-56, Win Over Nyack January 31, 2008 WATERBURY, Conn.-Senior swingman Arthur Robertson (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Beach Channel) recorded double digits for the 10th game in a row and 16th time this season, with a game-high 18 points, to lead the Post University men's basketball team to a 70-56 win over Nyack College, Thursday evening at the Drubner Center. With the win, the Eagles improve to 10-10 overall and 7-4 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). The loss drops Nyack to 10-11 overall and 5-5 in league play. The Eagles are also leading the CACC North Division with a 7-4 record, two games ahead of idle Dominican at 5-4. Robertson, led three Eagles in double figures, shooting 5-of-12 from the field and 8-of-11 from the charity stripe. He was 7-of-10 from the line in the second half alone. Junior AJ Reitter (Baltimore, Md./Franklin) netted 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor. He nailed three three-pointers and grabbed four rebounds, blocked two shots, and recorded four steals. Senior forward Peter Lawal (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) chipped in with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Lawal also grabbed seven rebounds, and inches closer to the 1,000-point plateau in his collegiate career. Following this evening's game against the Warriors, Lawal needs 74 points to reach the milestone. Post shot 39.3 percent from the field in the game, hitting on 22-of-56 shot attempts. Post also had a solid shooting night from three-point range, knocking down 8-of-19 (42.1 percent) from three-point land. The Eagles went to the free throw line 22 times on the evening, sinking 18 shots for an 81.8 percent, which was the second-highest this season. The Eagle defense held Nyack to 31.3 percent (20-64) from the field, and holding the Warriors to just 11.1 percent (1-9) from three-point range. Post also scored 15 points off of 14 Nyack turnovers, and the Eagles held an 11-10 edge in second chance points. Nyack, who was led by Brian Roberts with 17 points, out rebounded the Eagles 45-41, and 18-9 on the offensive glass. The Warriors also received double-digit efforts from John Vandunk, who had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while James Oyamo added 10 points as well. Post will step out of conference on Saturday afternoon with a trip to UMass.-Lowell. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. Post will then return home on Tuesday, Feb. 5 for a CACC tilt against Caldwell College. The Caldwell game begins a five-game home stand for the Eagles.
