Reitter Garners CACC Player Of The Week Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Junior forward AJ Reitter (Baltimore, Md./Franklin) was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time this season, and second in his career, on Monday afternoon.

Reitter, tied a Northeast Region and set a CACC single-game high for points with 42 in an 88-83 win over Felician last Thursday. In addition, he set CACC standards for the season with 17 field goals, and tied a CACC season-high for attempts with 23.

The Baltimore, native also recorded the highest point-total in the conference since Tayron Thomas of Philadelphia University had 53 points against Presbyterian on November 13, 2005. Bloomfield's Andre Dabney netted 50 points against Dominican on February 9, 2006.

The last time a Post University men's basketball player scored 40 or more points was on February 7, 2004, when Ron Christy had 42 points in a 91-75 win over University of the Sciences at the Drubner Center.

Reitter also went over the 800-point plateau with his career-night at Feleician. He now has 803 points, good for a career average of 11.5 ppg, in 70 games for the Green and White.

He leads the team and is fifth in the conference in scoring with 16.9 points per game. Reitter is also sixth in the CACC with 27 three-pointers made (1.93 per game), and is fifth in the conference with 1.21 blocks per game (17).

The Eagles are 7-7 overall and lead the CACC North Division with a 4-1 record.

Post returns home for the first time in 2008, on January 15 against Felician College. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. The game will be webcast on the Eagles Sports Network, on http://www.posteagles.com/, with Joe Coss calling the action with the Nike Pre-game show beginning following the completion of the Post-Felician women's game.
