Holy Family beat the Eagles 75-63, on December 2, 2006 at the Campus Center, while the Eagles won a thrilling 67-65 contest on January 20, 2007 at the Drubner Center. The Eagles are in the mists of a season-long seven game road trip, and are currently 2-3 on the swing, following a 76-64 win at Goldey-Beacom, last Saturday afternoon. Senior forward Peter Lawal (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) led four Eagles in double figures in the win with a game-high 16 points. He was named CACC Honorable Mention, and enters the game with the Tigers needing seven rebounds for 600 in his career. Lawal is 22nd in the CACC in scoring with 11.2 points per game, and is one of three Eagles, who are averaging double digits this season. Senior swingman Arthur Robertson (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Beach Channel) leads the team and is fifth in the conference in scoring with 16.3 points per game. Junior forward AJ Reitter (Baltimore, Md./Franklin) is second on the team and seventh in the CACC with 15.5 points per game. The senior forward is also seventh in the conference with 7.5 rebounds per contest, while Robertson is two spots below with 7.3 caroms an outing. Reitter is also listed among conference leaders, as he is sixth with 23 three-pointers made, and tied for fifth with 1.25 block shots per game (15 total). As a team, the Eagles are second in field goal percentage defense, as opponents are shooting 41.1 percent (269-654). For the second game in a row, the Eagles will face one of the top scoring teams in the conference, as Holy Family is second with 76.2 points per game. On Saturday, the Eagles held the top-team in the conference, Goldey-Beacom to under 70 points for the third time this season. Holy Family is led by the top-two scorers in the CACC, Michael Stearns and Ryan Lancaster. Stearns leads the conference with 25.1 points per game, while Lancaster is second in the conference with 18.0 ppg. Ceazer Johnson is the third Tiger to average double figures with 10.3 ppg. The Tigers also have the second-leading rebounder in the conference in London Houston who is pulling down 9.0 rebounds a game. Houston also leads the conference with 40 steals. The Eagles will conclude the seven-game road swing on Thursday
evening, as they travel to Felician College for an 8 p.m. tip-off.
The two teams will square off again on Thursday, Jan. 15, when the
Eagles make their first appearance in the Drubner Center, since a
55-48 win over USP on December 8.
