Men's BasketballMen's Basketball Picks Up 76-64 Road Win Over Goldey-Beacom January 5, 2008 WILMINGTON, Del.-Senior forward Peter Lawal (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Post University men's basketball team to a 76-64 win on the road at Goldey-Beacom Saturday afternoon. Lawal, who also grabbed six rebounds, inching him closer 600 in his career, recorded double digits for the eighth time this season. The Eagles improve to 6-6 overall, and stay unbeaten in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 3-0 record. Post also improves to 2-3 on its season-longest seven-game road trip. Goldey-Beacom falls to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in CACC play. Lawal shot 7-of-11 from the field, to lead four Eagles in double digits. Following today's game, he needs seven caroms for 600 in his career. Senior swingman Arthur Robertson (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Beach Channel) notched his third double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Robertson sank 11-of-15 from the charity stripe, and controlled four offensive rebounds. Junior forward Omar Robinson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Canarsie) eclipsed the 300-point plateau with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field. Robinson netted four three-pointers to lead all players. Junior forward AJ Reitter (Baltimore, Md./Franklin) chipped in with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting. It was the ninth double-digit outing of the season for Reitter. Post shot 48.2 percent from the field, hitting on 27-of-56 shots, while holding GBC to 42.3 percent from the field. Post controlled the inside, out-rebounding its opponent 39-30, and enjoying a 15-11 advantage on the offensive boards, which led to 20 second chance points. The Eagles forced GBC into 22 turnovers, which led to 21 points on the day. Derek Savage led four Goldey-Beacom players in double figures with 15 points. Anthony Parham added 13 points, while Samuel McDuffie chipped in with 12 points, and Maurice Maxwell had 10. Post had a solid afternoon from behind the arc, connecting on 7-of-14 from downtown. On the defensive end the Eagles limited GBC to 2-of-17 (11.8 percent). Goldey-Beacom entered the game leading the CACC in scoring with 78.6 points per game, but the Eagles, who are third in the CACC in field goal percentage defense, held GBC to under 70 points for the third time this season. The Eagles continue their inter-session road trip on Tuesday evening, as they travel to Holy Family University. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. at the Campus Center.
