Men's BasketballLawal Garners CACC Honorable Mention January 7, 2008 NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Senior Peter Lawal (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Honorable Mention, after leading the Eagles to a 76-64 win over Goldey-Beacom, last Saturday afternoon. The senior forward led four players in double digits with a game-high 16 points. He also grabbed six rebounds, as he inched closer to 600 in his career, he enters Tuesday's game at Holy Family, needing only seven more caroms. Lawal connected on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, and knocked down a pair of free throws, to go along with two assists, a block and a steal in 34 minutes for Post. It was the ninth double-figure outing of the season for the senior. He is third on the team in scoring and 22 in the CACC with 11.2 points per game. He leads the team and is seventh in the conference with 7.5 rebounds per contest. Lawal is also among the leading-shooters in the conference converting 48.6 percent of his field goal opportunities, which is good for 10th in the CACC. Lawal is eighth in the CACC in blocked shots with 12, and is tied for fourth in offensive rebounds with 2.83 offensive caroms per game. The Eagles (6-6, 3-0 CACC) travel to Holy Family University on
Tuesday evening for a CACC cross-over contest. Tip-off is slated
for 8 p.m. at Holy Family's Campus Center. Post will travel to
Felician College on Thursday evening, to close out a season-high
seven-game road trip.
