GolfGolf Takes 2nd in Eagle Shootout BLOOMFIELD, CT - After fighting their way to the 1st day lead with a 299 team score, the Post University men's golf team was unable to hold off a charging Adelphi University, and had to settle for 2nd place in the 2008 Eagle Shootout held at the Wintonbury Hills Country Club in Bloomfield over the weekend. Jamie Blake (Jr.- Arbroath, Scotland) continued his consistent play as the low man for the Eagles, shooting a 12 over par 75-77-152, good for an 8th place finish. David McGregor (Fr.- Helensburg, Scotland) was right on his heels with a 75-78-153, with Marchant deVillier (Fr.- Paarl, South Africa) just three strokes behind Blake. All three shot matching 75's on day one of the tournament. The Eagles's team score of 299-313-612 left them 12 strokes behind Adelphi, but 16 strokes ahead of 3rd place American International in the 13 team competition that included several of the top teams in the Region. After finishing behind them in the ECAC Tournament two weeks ago in Long Island, Post managed to turn the tables on conference rival Dominican College, as the Chargers finished 30 strokes off the pace in 4th place. With the weather in New England beginning to turn cool, the Eagles will head south to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida this coming weekend for the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational at the PGA National Golf Course, before wrapping up their fall season in Massachusetts at the N.E.I.G.A Championships the last weekend in October.
