Eagles' Blake Leads Nation in Par 3 Scoring

WATERBURY, CT - Oct. 6 - There is an old golf saying that you "drive for show and put for dough", and Post University men's golfer Jamie Blake (Jr.- Arbroath, Scotland) is living proof.  Make no mistake about it, Blake can drive the ball, but he also has the short game to go with it.  Proof positive is the fact that he leads the nation (Division II) in par 3 scoring.  Only John Eisentrout of St. Martin's College comes close to his 2.69 average with a 2.73.

In fact, Blake trails only Scott Glen (2.50) of Missouri State for all collegiate golfers, Division I included.

Blake has been a model of consistency this year for the Eagles men's golf team, helping them to a 2nd place finish at the Dowling Invitational, 4th Place in the ECAC Championships, and 6th place in the Barton College Invitational in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Individually, Blake has two top 10 finishes and a top 5 finish (ECAC's).  He has yet to finish lower than 17th in any match this season.

For Blake and the Eagles, they conclude their own Eagle Shootout today at the Wintonbury Hills Country Club in Bloomfield, CT, before heading south to the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational at the PGA National Golf Course in Palm Springs, Florida this coming weekend.
