GolfMen's Golf Adds Four To Roster July 29, 2008 WATERBURY, Conn.-Fresh off winning its third straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship this past spring, the Post University men's golf team will vie for yet another, and look to reach the NCAA Division II Championships, with the addition of four talented newcomers to the roster. Head Coach Pete Stevens, who enters his sixth season as the Eagle mentor, will welcome Marchant deViller from Paarl South Africa, Chris Kuber from Garden City, N.Y., Jon Lussier from Barton, Vt., and Gavin Wilson from Fife, Scotland, to an already talented roster. At one point last season, the Eagles won three consecutive tournaments, including their third straight CACC title. They also produced the programs best-ever finish at the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Championship, with a fourth place finish. Rising sophomore David McGregor, earned individual medalist honors at the CACC Championships, bolstered by a four-under par 67 in very difficult second-round conditions. He was named CACC Player and Rookie of the Year, in addition to earning a spot on the Division II PING All-Northeast Region Team. The quartet of newcomers and the returning veterans, will take part in several regional and national tournaments in the upcoming fall season, which begins September 6-8 at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational at the Inveness Country Club in Avondale, Pa. Following the initial tournament of the fall season, the Eagles will travel to the Dowling College Fall Invitational, at the prestigious Long Island National Country Club in Riverhead, N.Y. September 13-15. The Dowling Invitational, will serve as a tune up for the 2008 ECAC Division II Championships, September 20-22, at the Long Island National golf course. The Eagles will look to recapture the title that they won in the fall of 2006 at the Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, N.Y. Post closes out the first month of the season at the Barton College Fall Invitational, at the Fords Colony Golf Course in Rocky Mount, N.C. Last spring, the Eagles finished sixth at the prestigious 2 Targets/Barton College Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. The Eagles will then welcome several of the top programs from the Northeast to the Wintonbury Hills Country Club, in Bloomfield, Conn., for the 2008 Eagle Shootout, October 4-6. Joining the Eagles are Adelphi, American International, Assumption, Dominican, Dowling, Holy Family, LeMoyne, UMass-Lowell, New Haven, Nyack, and St. Rose. In the penultimate tournament of the fall campaign, the Eagles will once again face some of the Nation's top programs at the 2008 Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational, October 12-14 at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The PGA National has played host to the Ryder Cup, PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship, Honda Classic, Optimist Juniors and Gateway Tour events. The fall season will conclude with the 74th annual New England
Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships, October
