WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University men's golf team, continues its fall slate this weekend, as it heads to Syracuse, N.Y., looking to defend its ECAC Division II Championship, at the Drumlins Country Club.

According to the course website, the Drumlins it is just a short wedge from the Syracuse University South Campus.

The 36-hole tournament will have a shotgun start on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., and second-round action begins on Monday at 7 a.m.

Post is coming off a sixth place finish at the Dowling College September Shootout, at the Long Island National Golf Club.

Freshman Ryan Philipp led the Eagles with a two-round score of 152 (74, 78) on the par 71, 6,800-yard Robert Trent Jones, Jr. course.

Sophomore Lee Wanklyn, who was recently named captain of the men's golf team, by Head Coach Pete Stevens, finished second with a two-round total of 156 (79, 77).

Fellow sophomore James Livingstone, continued to improve, finishing third on the team with a 157 (81, 76), junior Jamie Blake 160 (77, 83), and senior Calum Malcolm 164 (81, 83) rounded out the tournament for the Eagles.

At the 2006 ECAC Championships, Wanklyn fired a two-over 73 in the first round, as the Eagles recorded a two-round score of 595 to take home the crown, finishing six strokes better than Pace, and seven strokes better than Bryant.

Following this weekend's action, the Eagles will be off until the weekend of October 7-8, as they travel to the Adelphi Invitational for the penultimate tournament of the fall season.

The fall season concludes the weekend of October 21-23 at the 2007 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass. Two years ago, the Eagles captured the NEIGA Division II Championship.
