Men's Golf Completes First Tournament Of Season

MIDDLETOWN, Del.-Sophomore Lee Wanklyn finished eighth overall with a two-round score of 152, to lead the Post University men's golf team in its first tournament of the 2007-08 season, at the Goldey-Beacom Fall Invitational, this weekend.

Wanklyn, who fired a pair of five-over par 76's to finish alone in eighth place at +10 for the tournament, at the 6,008-yard Back Creek/Frog Hollow Golf Course.

Freshman Ryan Philipp finished second on the team and 25th overall with a two-round score of 157. He recorded an 80 in his first collegiate round on Saturday, but finished three shots better on Sunday to recorded a six-over 77.

Sophomore James Livingstone, who was fourth on the team after the first round on Saturday, carded a six-over 77 in second round action. Livingstone shot a combined score of 160 for the tournament.

Junior Jamie Blake fired an 81 on Sunday, to finish the tournament with a 163. Senior Calum Malcolm registered a two-round score of 169 finishing Sunday's action with an 84.

As a team the Eagles finished eighth overall with a team score of 632 for the two-rounds. The Eagles finished the second round with a team total of 311, after firing a 321 in first round action. Wilmington captured the team title with a score of 604 for the two rounds.

Post is back in action the weekend of September 16-17 at the Dowling College Fall Invitational, at the prestigious Long Island National Golf Club.
