McGregor Selected To PING All-Region Team

NORMAN, Okla.-Rising sophomore David McGregor was one of 10 golfers that earned Division II PING All-Northeast Region honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

McGregor captured the 2008 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) individual championship, with an even-par score of 142 (75-67).

In very difficult conditions in the second-round, the Helensburgh, Scotland native carded a four-under par 67 to claim CACC Player of the Year and CACC Rookie of the Year honors. He was also named to the All-CACC Team, and earned CACC Player and CACC Rookie of the Week honors, twice, during the spring season.

In addition to his first place finish at the CACC Championships, he finished second at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational with a score of 148 (77-71).

McGregor is joined on the team by Garrett Beyor of American International, Mike Dominici of Pace, Anthony Gallardo of UMass.-Lowell, Brant Kummerfeld of Adelphi, Robert Leopold of Bentley, Brian Mackey of Dominican, Joe Tesori of LeMoyne, Jason Thresher of Bryant, and Nick Zolotas of St. Thomas Aquinas.

The 10 All-Region teams consist of 10 players and are selected by the GCAA all-region committees. Any player in the top 50 of the final Golfstat Individual rankings is automatically added to his all-region team.

The Eagles finished the 2007-08 season with their highest-ever finish at the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Championship with a fourth place finish.

Post also captured its third straight CACC Championship title, and finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the Northeast Region.

The Eagles also won the Peter King Memorial Championship at Dowling College and the AIC Championship during the regular season.
