McGregor Captures CACC Player, CACC Rookie Of The Week Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Freshman David McGregor (Helensburgh, Scotland) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player and CACC Rookie of the Week, for the second time this season, as the conference announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon.

McGregor, was the individual medalist at last week's CACC Championships at the Back Creek Golf Course in Middletown, Del. In the second-round, he shot a four-under 67, in windy conditions, to finish the 36-hole tournament at even-par (142), after a first-round 75.

He helped the Eagles win their third CACC Championship in as many years. Post will be making their fourth straight trip to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship, May 5-7 at the same Back Creek Golf Course.

For winning the tournament McGregor was named the CACC Player of the Year, and the CACC Rookie of the Year. In addition, he also earned a spot on the All-CACC Team.

Freshman Ryan Philipp (Bristol, Conn.) and senior Calum Malcolm (Dunfermline, Scotland) earned CACC Honorable Mention kudos, after finishing in the top-10 at the CACC Championships.

Philipp finished third overall, and earned All-CACC honors with a 152 for the tournament. He was tied for the lead with a 75 following the first-round, and shot a 77 in the second-round.

Malcolm was also tied for the overall lead after the first round with a 75, and carded a 78 in the second-round to finish just one stroke back of Philipp with a 153. He was also named to the All-CACC squad, after finishing fourth overall.
