NEW HAVEN, Conn.-For the second consecutive week, a Post University men's golfer captured a pair of awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Freshman Ryan Philipp was named CACC Player of the Week and CACC Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Philipp won individual medalist honors at the Peter King Memorial tournament hosted by Dowling College, last Sunday and Monday.

He carded a 75, which was good for ninth place, following the first round, but came back to shoot a 71 in the second round, to finish the tournament with a 146 (+4), finishing one stroke ahead of Garrett Beyor of American International.

The Bristol, Conn., native joins fellow freshman David McGregor as the only players in the conference this season to sweep both of the weekly awards. McGregor earned dual honors on April 7, after finishing in a four-way tie for second place in the Goldey-Beacom Invitational. McGregor carded a one-under 71 in second round play, to finish the tournament with a score of 148 (78-71).

Both Philipp and McGregor are in a five-way tie for first place following the first round of the CACC Championships at the Back Creek Country Club in Middletown, Del., Monday afternoon. As a team, the Eagles are leading the way with a 303, two strokes ahead of Wilmington College for second place.

Final round action of the CACC Championships will take place on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at the Back Creek Golf Course.
