GolfThree Eagles Tied For First, As Golf Leads CACC Championships April 14, 2008 MIDDLETOWN, Del.-Senior Calum Malcolm, freshman Ryan Philipp, and freshman David McGregor each shot 75's and the Post University men's golf team leads the way, following the opening round play of the 2008 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), Monday afternoon at the Back Creek Golf Club. "This team knows how to win," Head Coach Pete Stevens said after the first round on Monday. "They are in a position to win, and this tournament is there's for the taking." Post shot a 303 in the first 18 holes, and is two shots ahead of Wilmington College who is second with a 305. Goldey-Beacom is in third with a 313, followed by Dominican (316), Nyack (335), Holy Family (336), Caldwell (347), USP (350), Philadelphia University (366), Felician (391), and Chestnut Hill. The CACC Championships will conclude on Tuesday with second round play on the par-71, 6,505-yard course. Post is vying for its third straight CACC Championship, and is looking to tie Goldey-Beacom, who won three CACC Championships from 2002-05. There is a five-way tie for first place for individual medalist honors, as Malcolm, Philipp, and McGregor are joined by Vinny Nardo and Matt Hall of Wilmington College, at four-over par. According to Stevens the greens were very fast on Monday, and are shaping up to be the same on Tuesday. Sophomore Lee Wanklyn is tied for ninth, after carding a first-round score of 78. Junior Jamie Blake recorded an 83.
