Two Men's Golfers Earn CACC Plaudits

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Sophomore Lee Wanklyn and freshman Ryan Philipp earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) honors, as the Conference announced its weekly golf awards on Tuesday afternoon.

Wanklyn, who earned five CACC Rookie of the Week awards last season, earned Player of the Week kudos, for the first time in his career, on Tuesday.

At the Pace Spring Invitational last week, Wanklyn finished tied for third overall, with a two-day total of 151 (+7), carding rounds of 76 and 75. The Berkshire, England native was the top CACC competitor in the field.

Philipp, a Bristol, Conn. native, finished tied for 12th overall with a two-round score of 156 (+12), firing a pair of 78's in the tournament.

As a team, the Eagles finished fifth overall with a two-round score of 632. Post was also the highest finishing CACC team, finishing ahead of Dominican (6th-place), Wilmington (8th-place), Goldey-Beacom (9th-place), and Nyack (10th-place).

The Eagles will return to the links March 30-April 1 for the Goldey-Beacom Invitational at the Hartefeld National Golf Course in Avondale, Pa.
