Men's Golf Maintains Number-Three Regional Ranking

INDIANAPOLIS-Fresh off winning its second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship, in as many years, the Post University men's golf team continued to hold its number-three ranking, in the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Poll, released this afternoon, by the NCAA.

The Eagles defended their CACC Championship, on Tuesday with a one-stroke win over Goldey-Beacom at the Frog Hollow Country Club in Middlebury, Delaware. Post recorded a team score of 311.

Pace University is first in the Region, followed by St. Thomas Aquinas, and the Eagles. Bryant is fourth, and LeMoyne rounds out the top five. Assumption is sixth, followed by Goldey-Beacom, New Haven, Bentley, and Dominican College.

With the win at the CACC Championships, the Eagles earned the automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Championship, May 7-9 at the Speidel Golf Club in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Interim Head Coach Tommy Dorso was named the CACC Coach of the Year, and freshman Lee Wanklyn was named CACC Rookie of the Year, after finishing third overall with a three-over par 74. Wanklyn was also named to the All-CACC team, along with Sophomore Lloyd Notely who finished tied for fourth.

Post returns to the links this weekend at the River Hawk Golf Invitational, hosted by UMass.-Lowell at the Andover Country Club. The two-round tournament will tee on on Sunday, and conclude on Monday morning.
