Post Dressage With Strong Fifth Place Finish

September 27, 2005

The Post University Intercollegiate Dressage Team started the season with a show hosted by University of Vermont on Saturday, September 24th.

Considering this was the first show for this team, the riders did very well In spite of only limited practice beforehand. Fie Andersen (Senior) Holly Lever (Sophomore), Kathleen Gillespie (Sophomore), and Sarah Leigh (Sophomore), drove up the night before, were at the show site at 8:00 AM, competed all day and finally left for the five hour drive home at 4:30 PM - making for a long day!

It was well worth the effort as Fie Andersen, who is also coaching the Team won her First Level Test with 65.185% - a really outstanding start to the season and boosts Fie?s hopes of going to Nationals again this year. Holly Leever, who transferred in this semester, rode her mount to a sixth place in Upper Training Level. Kathleen and Sarah both rode their horses well, but did not place.

The points collected by Fie and Holly resulted in the Post Team placing 5th over all - great start to the season. Congratulations to all the riders and good luck for the next show on Sunday, October 2nd at Johnson & Wales.
