Rovinetti Garners CACC Honorable Mention

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Senior outfielder Eric Rovinetti (Watertown, Conn./Southern Connecticut State Univ.) was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Honorable Mention, as the conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday.

Rovinetti was 5-for-11 (.455) with a triple, a double, five runs scored and two runs batted in, in four games for the Eagles last week. In addition, he recorded a .727 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base percentage.

Against American International on April 2, the senior went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two runs batted in. He also went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in a 5-4 loss to Philadelphia University on April 4.

In the nightcap win over Caldwell on April 6, he went 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored.

He is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak since March 12, which is the longest on the team this season. In that span he is 13-of-28 (.464) with 10 runs scored and four runs batted in. He also has two doubles and a triple.

Rovinetti leads the team with a .367 batting average, and has knocked in 11 runners, while scoring 15 times for the Eagles this season. He also leads the team with a .519 on-base percentage.

Post (9-14, 2-3 CACC) travels to Nyack College for a CACC game on Tuesday evening. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. The Eagles return home on Thursday, to face in-state rival, the University of New Haven for a non-conference game beginning at 3 p.m. at Municipal Stadium.
