BaseballBaseball Cruises To 14-3 Win Over Bloomfield April 25, 2008 WATERBURY, Conn.-Senior Chris Ouellette (Uncasville, Conn./Montville) and junior Dan Luisi (Bethpage, N.Y./Holy Trinity) each drove in three runners and the Post University baseball team pounded out 14 runs and 16 hits in a 14-3 win over Bloomfield College, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game at Municipal Stadium Friday afternoon. In a game that took three hours and 27 minutes to complete, the Eagles (17-22, 8-10 CACC) scored twice in the bottom of the third, and then added three runs in the bottom of the fourth, four runs in the bottom of the fifth, two in the bottom of the sixth, once in the seventh and two more in the eighth, to come back from a 2-0 hole. Ouellette was 2-for-4 with his third double of the season, while Luisi added a pair of hits, and scored twice for the Eagles. Senior Eric Rovinetti (Watertown, Conn./Southern Connecticut State Univ.) continued his torrid hitting as of late as he went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a run batted in. With his three hits this afternoon, Rovinetti raised his batting average to a team-high .403 on the season. Sophomore Jose Reyes (Yonkers, N.Y./Roosevelt) went 2-for-3 with a double a run scored and two runs batted in. Junior Donnie Dlabola (Levittown, N.Y./Nassau C.C.) went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI. Junior Ben Schoenberg (Sugarland, Texas/Cedar Creek C.C.) picked up his fifth win of the season for the Eagles, as he scattered three runs, two earned on eight hits and one walk. Schoenberg (5-1) struck out four batters in the win. The two teams will conclude the home-and-home series on Saturday with a pair of seven-inning games at Wrights Field in Bloomington, N.J. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. In addition, the Bloomfield baseball team will be holding a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Admission, which will go towards this worthy charity, is $3 and members of the Bloomfield athletic department will be taking donations as well. Following the doubleheader with Bloomfield, the Eagles will
travel to Chestnut Hill College for a CACC contest on Sunday
afternoon.
