BaseballWyman Notches CACC Pitcher Of The Week Honors April 1, 2008 NEW HAVEN, Conn.-After leading the Post University baseball to a win over regionally-ranked Caldwell College last Tuesday, junior LHP Brendan Wyman (Manchester, Conn./East Catholic) was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher of the Week this afternoon. Wyman (1-2) earns pitcher of the week honors for the first time this season, and second of his career. He was named CACC Pitcher of the Week on March 26, 2007, after taking a no-hitter into the ninth inning in the first game of a doubleheader at Philadelphia University. Against Caldwell, last Tuesday, Wyman went the distance picking up his first win of the season, in a 3-0 win. He was touched for four hits and two walks, while striking out six batters. He faced the minimum through the first three innings, and at one point in the game retired 16-of-17 batters. It was the second complete-game shutout in his career, as he tossed a five-hitter on March 10, 2007 against Clarion University. One of the leading pitchers in the CACC, Wyman is 10th in the conference with a 4.20 earned run average. In addition, he is ninth in the conference in strikeouts with 23, and is tied for first with two complete games. Opponents are hitting .265 against him, which is good for 10th-best in the conference. He has not allowed a run in his last 10 innings of work, and has not allowed an earned run in his last 12 innings. Following the postponement of Tuesday's game against Felician College, the Eagles will return to the diamond on Wednesday afternoon, as they welcome American International to Municipal Stadium for a 3 p.m. first pitch. Under second-year Head Coach AJ McNamara, the
Eagles are 7-12 overall and are tied for fourth with a 1-1
conference record.
