BaseballBaseball Explodes For 19-1 Win Over Chestnut Hill March 14, 2008 FORT PIERCE, Fla.-The Post University baseball team scored 19 runs and pounded out 26 hits, in a 19-1 win over Chestnut Hill College, in the penultimate game of the team's spring break trip to Florida on Friday afternoon, at the Bob Gladwin Baseball Complex With the win, the Eagles improve to 5-9 overall and 4-5 on their trip to the "Sunshine State." Seven Eagles recorded multi-hit games as freshman Garret Keenan was 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored. Junior Corey Huffine went 4-for-7 with two doubles, two runs scored, and a run batted in. Junior Dan Luisi went 3-for-6 with four runs batted in and a pair of runs scored. Senior Curtis Anthony was 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and one run batted in. Junior Joe Proscia went 3-for-6 with three runs scored and a run batted in, while junior Jim Conto went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two runs batted in. Chestnut Hill scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning, but the Eagles scored four runs in the second, four in the third, and four in the fourth, five runs in the sixth, and two runs in the eighth to win their second game in as many days. Sophomore Michael Wolfe recorded the win, as he gave up one run on seven hits and three walks in six innings of work. Wolfe (1-1) struck out seven batters. Sophomore Mike Perry pitched one inning giving up one walk and striking out two. Sophomore Grant Mills also pitched one inning, as he gave up one hit and one walk. Anthony closed the game out with a one-hit ninth inning, striking out two batters in the process. The game against the first-year Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member was the third wood-bat game of the season for the Eagles, as they improve to 2-1 with wood this season. The game was a non-conference game. Post will close out its spring break trip with a single
nine-inning game against Slippery Rock Univeristy, Saturday
morning. First pitch is slated for 8:45 a.m. at the Bob Gladwin
Baseball Complex in Fort Pierce, Fla.
