BaseballTwo Baseball Players Capture All-CACC Kudos May 8, 2007 NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Senior Ryan DePolo and sophomore Brendan Wyman were named to the second-team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), in voting conducted by the conference's nine head coaches, on Tuesday afternoon. It's the second consecutive appearance for DePolo on the All-CACC second-team, and the first for Wyman. DePolo led the team in hitting with a .331 batting average, and finished his career with a school-record 154 hits. He recorded 48 hits this season, was tied for second on the team with 10 doubles, and second on the team with 60 total bases. In addition, he tied for the team lead with 14 multi-hit games and had two four-hit outings this past season. Earlier this season, he had a six-game hitting streak, and finished the season with a three-game streak. He had the game-winning hit against Dominican in the bottom of the ninth inning, last Friday afternoon, and was named to the CACC Weekly honor roll. Wyman was one of the better pitchers in the conference, as he recorded the second-best earned run average in the conference with a 2.98 ERA. He also led all pitchers in the conference in opposing batting average, with a .231 mark. In his second season with the Eagles he was 6-2 in 60.1 innings of work. He struck out 42 batters. In two games last week, he picked up a win and a save in seven and two-thirds innings of relief. He pitched two innings to get the save against Caldwell, and five and two thirds innings to get the win in relief against Dominican. Earlier this season, he took a no-hitter into the ninth inning at Philadelphia University. The Eagles finished the season 8-8 in CACC play, after being
picked ninth in the preseason coaches' poll.
