BaseballRicker Named Assistant Baseball Coach, Equipment Manager October 4, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-Post University Director of Athletics Anthony Fallacaro announced today, that Ray Ricker has been named assistant baseball coach. Ricker comes to Post after playing for Albertus Magnus College in New Haven last spring. Ricker will assist Head Coach AJ McNamara in all facets of the day-to-day operations of the Post University baseball program. He will assist in recruiting, scouting, game and practice preparation, and other areas as well. The Torrington, Conn. native will also be the athletic department's equipment manager, and will be in charge of the equipment needs of each of the department's intercollegiate athletic teams. "Ray is a great addition to our staff here at Post University," McNamara said. "His knowledge of the game and his energy will be a big asset for our baseball program. He has already made an immediate impact with the players as they have taken very well to him and his methods of instruction." As a senior at Albertus Magnus, Ricker was second on the team in hitting with a .367 batting average. As one of the co-captains, he started all 26 games for the Falcons as the catcher and had two homeruns and 20 runs batted in. In addition, he registered a .595 slugging percentage and a .490 on-base percentage. He was head coach of the Connecticut Blue Jays Baseball Club 12-under AAU program from 2000-02, and was a private instructor at Grand Slam Baseball Academy in Norwalk, Conn. Post will close out the fall portion of its schedule on Sunday
afternoon, for the second-annual Alumni Game. Former members of the
baseball program will take on the current squad at Municipal
Stadium in Waterbury, Conn. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. For
