Men's Soccer Ties Holy Family, 1-1 October 7, 2006 WATERBURY, Conn.-Junior Maurice Johnson scored at the 73rd minute to help the Post University men's soccer team to a 1-1 tie on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field. The Eagles remain unbeaten in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at home this season with a 4-0-2 record. Post (5-4-4, 4-1-2 CACC) apparently scored the first goal of the afternoon with about 20 minutes remaining until halftime, but the line judge raised his flag, which waived the goal, keeping the match scoreless. Holy Family's (7-6-1, 3-3-1 CACC) Sean Hordijenko broke the 0-0; tie with an unassisted goal at the 10:13 mark. But, Eagles would tie the game in the second half, as Johnson broke free of the defense and came down on a fast break, and went one-on-one with the Holy Family's goalkeeper Patrick Becker and put it past him to knot the match at 1-1, where it would end after two overtime periods. Post held a 20-11 edge in shots, and a 7-2 margin in corner kicks. Holy Family was called for 26 fouls, while Post was whistled for 14. Each team had three players receive yellow cards. The Eagles are back in action on Monday afternoon, as they host
Concordia College in a non-conference match at 3 p.m. on LaMoy
Field.
