Post University Assistant Sports Information Director:

Post University Athletics is seeking a part-time Assistant Sports Information Director.
Candidate should possess strong writing skills and the ability to learn new processes and in particular statcrew software. Must be available to work Post University home games and must have an understanding of the rules of various sports. This position will entail keeping statistics according to NCAA rules and inputting data into statcrew. Additional responsibilities will be assigned by the Sports Information Director.

Responsibilities Include:

*Coordinate with local media and opposing teams to promote games
* Write press releases in the associated press format
*Take part in the marketing and promotion of collegiate team’s successes
*Prepare game notes and game programs
*Research hometown newspapers and interact with media outlets; goal is to increase hometown coverage of athletes
*Sit at the Official Scorer’s Table during NCAA Game Contests
*Operate Statcrew software and other statistical programs used by the NCAA
*Update the athletics webpage
*Conduct research relating Post University’s athletic programs

Sports Information Internship

An internship in Post University’s Sports Information Office will provide a student the opportunity to gain experience in athletic communications. The internship will last a minimum of eight weeks and students will work a minimum of fifteen hours per week. Interns will be taught and learn various aspects of the Sports Information job including, but not limited to, the following:

*Coordinating with local media and opposing teams to promote games
* Learning the proper way to write press releases in the associated press format
*Taking part in the marketing and promotion of collegiate team’s successes
*Preparing game notes and game programs
*Researching hometown newspapers and interact with media outlets; goal is to increase hometown coverage of athletes
*Working at the Official Scorer’s Table during NCAA Game Contests
*Learning statcrew software and other statistical programs used by the NCAA
*Developing skills per updating the athletics webpage

Candidate should possess strong writing skills and the ability to learn new processes (in particular statcrew software). Candidate must be available to work Post University home games and should have an understanding of the rules of various sports. A sports information intern may also be asked to do research relating to Post University’s 16 athletic teams.

At the end of the internship the candidate will have an intimate knowledge of the workings of an NCAA Collegiate Athletic Program, in particular the Sports Information Department. An evaluation of the intern’s performance, including all duties that the intern has learned, will be provided. A formal evaluation of the internship by the intern will be conducted to insure any future interns will have a quality educational experience. If there are any requirements that the intern candidates educational program and major desires (credit requirements, documentation of activity, specific tasks to be completed, etc.) we will be glad to oblige.
