Eagles NewsPost University Garners 15 Spots On The CACC Fall All-Academic Team January 31, 2007 NEW HAVEN, Conn.--15 student-athletes on fall athletic teams, at Post University, were named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team. A total of 131 student-athletes from each of the 12 conference schools comprised the team. "We are very proud of our student-athletes at Post University," Director of Athletics Anthony Fallacaro said. "Our fall sports accomplished several distinctions on the athletic field, and this recognition of their academic achievements only adds to that success. It is a direct reflection of the hard work and commitment that our student-athletes put forth everyday." The men's soccer team led the Post contingent with eight selections, followed by women's soccer and volleyball with three, women's cross country had one. Junior Lior Button, junior Marco Gaspar, senior Theo Maleshkov, sophomore Dan Nadel, junior Chris Ouellette, senior David Petriashvili, senior Adam Sebastian, and junior Shemi Shlomo, represented the men's soccer team, which finished the season 10th place in the New England Region with a 9-7-5 overall record and a 4-1-3 mark in the CACC, before falling in the championship match. Sophomore Samantha DelRegno, sophomore Kendra Kelly and junior Allison Williams received this honor, while playing for the women's soccer team. The Eagles reached the semifinals of both the CACC and ECAC Women's Soccer Championships, with an 11-8-4 overall record and a 7-2-1 mark in the CACC. Sophomore Jessica Alexander, junior Vicky Ducharme, and sophomore Kerry Smith represented the volleyball team, which reached the CACC quarterfinals, with a 12-17 overall record and an 8-8 mark in the CACC. Junior Jamie Salvesen is a member of the women's cross country team. To be eligible for the CACC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete
must have participated in a CACC Championship sport this past fall,
be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a
student at their current school for at least two semesters, and
achieve a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher in the previous
semester.
