WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team was defeated by Nyack 1-0 in its regular season finale at LaMoy Field on Friday afternoon. The Eagles finish the year 5-8-4 overall and 4-4-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play earning the No. 8 seed in the conference tournament which begins on Tuesday.
Nyack scored the game's only goal in the 10
th minute as Finn Reese connected on shot from inside the box. The Eagles had a chance to tie the game in the 41
st minute as they were awarded a penalty kick. Junior
David Ortiz Correa (Envigado, Colombia) was unable to convert as the score remained 1-0 into halftime.
Post had one chance on goal in the second half after a Nyack yellow card in the 75
th minute. Freshman
Samuel Urban (Košice, Slovakia) had his shot saved by the Warriors' keeper.
Nyack outshot Post 9-6 overall and 5-3 on goal. Senior
Jon Hanlon (Centereach, N.Y.) made four stops on the afternoon.
The Eagles will visit top-seeded Concordia on Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the first round of the CACC Tournament. Kickoff in Bronxville, N.Y. is set for 2 p.m.
