2015 CACC Fall All-Academic TeamNEW HAVEN, Conn. - Post University had 15 student-athletes named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Fall All-Academic Team on Wednesday. Volleyball and men's soccer led the way with four student-athletes making the list. The 15 honorees ties the most for Post since the All-Academic Team was first announced in 2004.
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC Championship sport in the Fall. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher through the spring semester.
Volleyball was led by juniors
Nicole Brown (Queens, N.Y.) and
Kissylla dos Reis (Danbury, Conn.) who each achieved the honor for the second year in a row. The CACC Champs also placed sophomore
Cassandra Drogan (Dover Plains, N.Y.) and junior
Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) on the all-academic team.
Senior
Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) of the men's soccer team was honored for the third time in his career. Junior
Jason Goja (Aveiro, Portugal) made is second appearance on the team. Senior
Jacob Butler-Bowdon (Adelaide, Australia) and junior
Patrick DeAngelo (Danbury, Conn.) rounded out the team.
Three women's soccer student-athletes were honored. Senior
Brianne Scott (Williamstown, N.J.) earned her third honor. Senior
Laura Morgan (Brush Prairie, Wash.) and sophomore
Katharina Mertz (Buxtehude, Germany) each made their first appearances.
Men's cross country and women's tennis each placed two on the team. Junior cross country runners
John Ducham (Waterbury, Conn.) and
Ryan Acey (Plainville, Conn.) were selected for the second time. Women's tennis placed junior
Jamie Wilkin (Wallkill, N.Y.), her second appearance, and sophomore
Julianna Frenette (Woodbury, Conn.) on the team.
A total of 215 student-athletes from the 14 conference institutions earned a spot on the team. Women's soccer led the conference with 56 total selections.
