NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Post University volleyball team lost to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon 3-0 at Bert Hammel Court as part of the Merrimack Tournament. The set scores were 20-25, 20-25, 22-25. Freshman
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) led the way for the Eagles with nine kills, 14 digs and a service ace.

Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) had 27 assists and two kills for the Eagles. Freshman
Nicole Brown (Queens, N.Y.) added six kills and five block assists for Post.

Post played well in the opening set and kept up with Southern New Hampshire at first. The Eagles managed to tie things up at 10-10 before the Penmen went on a tear. Southern New Hampshire scored the next six points to take a commanding 16-10 lead. Post came within one after scoring five points in a row to make it 17-16. However, the Penmen finished on an 8-3 run to win the set 25-20.

The Eagles started out strong in the second set and jumped out to a 7-4 lead after a kill by freshman
Kerrin Kallmann (Lake Grove, N.Y.). The Penmen took over following a 7-0 run to take an 11-7 lead. Post kept it close and managed to come within one at 18-17, but Southern New Hampshire closed it out with a 7-3 run.

Post battled in the final set and stuck with Southern New Hampshire all the way until the end. The Penmen held an 8-7 lead before the Eagles scored four straight points, forcing the Penmen to take a timeout at 11-8. Post maintained the lead throughout most of the set and held a 20-19 lead late. Southern New Hampshire proved to be just too strong and finished on a 6-2 run to grab the victory.

Senior
Emily Wilman (Perth Amboy, N.J.) added seven kills and eight digs for the Eagles. Post dropped its seventh game of the season, however, the Eagles remain 1-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).

Ashlee Daoust led the Penmen with 10 kills, eight digs and three service aces. Southern New Hampshire improves to an impressive 5-2 record on the season.

Post travels to Albany, N.Y. next for a match with Saint Rose on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
