NEW CASTLE, Del. – Sophomore
Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) of the Post University men's soccer team received the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Top XIV Award at the annual awards banquet on Tuesday night. The award is given to the student athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each championship.
Â
Moura, a business administration major, currently holds a 3.775 GPA. This season scored five goals and three assists. He scored game-winning goals in Post's first two games of the season, including a 1-0 victory over then No. 7 Southern New Hampshire on Sept. 5.
Â
The CACC Top XIV Award is modeled after the NCAA Elite 89 Award and is a direct product of the CACC Strategic Plan. In order to be considered, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletics standing as well as a member of the active roster.  If there is a tie, it will be broken by the number of credit hours earned. This is the first year the award has been given out.
Â
Post will be looking to win its first CACC Championship since 2008 on Saturday, Nov. 9 as it heads back to New Castle, Del. to take on third-seeded Philadelphia at 11 a.m. The Eagles are the top seed in the tournament.
