WATERBURY, Conn. – A 16-3 run to begin the second half helped the Post University women's basketball team win its seventh Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game of the season on Wednesday night, defeating Nyack 80-61 at the Drubner Center. Junior
Jessica Webber (Naugatuck, Conn.) was one of four Eagles in double-digits, leading the way with 20 points on the night.

Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.), who saw her streak of four consecutive double-doubles end, finished with 11 boards, four points, and three blocks.
Nyack (0-13, 0-6 CACC) held its only lead of the game early and led 10-6 after a three-pointer by Ashley Tallman at the 16:50 mark of the first. Wright-James nailed three from distance as part of a 17-2 run by the Eagles that gave them a 23-12 lead with 11:52 remaining in the half.
Post (8-7, 7-2 CACC) went cold from the field over the next five minutes as the Warriors closed to gap to 27-25 at the 6:53 mark. Latham scored four points as part of a 10-0 stretch to give the Eagles their largest lead of the half at 40-28 with 2:36 left. Post went into the intermission with a 41-34 advantage.
The Eagles exploded out of the break on a 16-3 run to stretch their lead to 57-36 with 11:43 remaining. Griffin and Webber scored six points each during the run. A steal by Webber as she was falling out of bounds at 8:32 led to a fast break layup by junior
Fernanda Mansilla (Ancud, Chile) that put Post ahead 66-41.
Webber nailed a three-pointer with 4:42 remaining to give the Eagles their largest lead of the night at 74-48 as they coasted to the victory.
Post shot 11-for-23 from the distance on the night. This was Eagles third game of the season in which they made 11 or more three pointers. Post outscored the Warriors 22-15 off turnovers. Khamari Tellis recorded a double-double for Nyack with 16 points and 11 assists.
With 12 points on the night, Latham now sits at 969 for her career and is 31 points away from joining the 1,000-point club.
The Eagles hit the road on Saturday, Jan. 12 for a CACC matchup at Caldwell. Post defeated the Cougars 70-62 at home on Dec. 4. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
