NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior
Alexandre Beland (Trios-Rivere, Quebec) of the Post University baseball team was awarded a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Honorable Mention on Tuesday. Beland, a catcher, threw out 21 runners on the season, and ranked second on the team in batting average with a mark of .256.
Beland ended the season on a five-game hit streak, and ranked second on the Eagles with 10-multi hit games. In his first season in Waterbury, he totaled 31 hits, 18 runs, 13 RBIs and eight doubles. Beland notched a .401 on-base percentage behind 15 walks and 15 hit by pitches. To date, he is ranked 15
th nationally in hit by pitch per game (0.44) and 26
th in hit by pitch.
The Eagles finished the 2012 season with 15 wins, including six at Municipal Stadium.
