WATERBURY, Conn. – Post University and the department of athletics announced the 2012 sprint football schedule on Tuesday. A seven-game slate, the Eagles take on Army in the eighth annual Allegiance Bowl in Saratoga, N.Y., to open the season on Sept. 22, at 1 p.m.
Following the program's inaugural bowl appearance, Post will play the remaining six games of the season on the road. After a trip to Navy on Sept. 22, Post will travel to Princeton for a contest against the Tigers on Oct. 5. The Eagles are 2-0 all-time against the Tigers, which included the first shutout in program history on Oct. 14, 2011. Post turned in a 48-0 win at Municipal Stadium in the squad's only home game of the season.
Post will conclude the 2012 campaign at Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Nov. 3.
The Eagles return 27 letterwinners for the upcoming season, including five All-CSFL players.
