WATERBURY, Conn. – Post University and the department of athletics announced the reclassification of the head women's basketball coaching position from part-time to full-time on Friday. Due to his professional position as an educator for the state of Connecticut, current head coach
Alan Stekloff has declined the position. As a result a national search for the next head coach will commence.
“During his time with the Post University women's basketball program, Alan has taken the program to a new level,” Athletic Director
Anthony Fallacaro said. “His hard work and dedication led the team to its best season since 2006, which is a testament to the type of student-athletes he has brought to Post. We hope to continue the success that Alan has brought to the program in the future.”
The women's basketball program won 10 games last season including its last four of the 2011-12 campaign. Third Team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) choice
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) led the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game, while
Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) ranked 13
th in the nation in rebounds per game with a mark of 11.3. Chance had seven double-doubles during the year.

Scott Allen said. “By making the head women's basketball coach a full-time position, we hope to attract a well-qualified candidate, who sees the equal importance of academics and athletics in a college community. This individual will be able to attract high-quality student-athletes who will succeed on the court and in the classroom to Post University.”
