Eagles In 20th After First Round Of NCAA Championship

Anthony Netto Leads Post With Five-Over, 77 On Day

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – The Post University golf team sits in 20th place after the first round of its first-ever NCAA Division II Championship appearance. The Eagles shot a 334 on Tuesday at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky.
 
Sophomore Anthony Netto (Dusseldorf, Germany) shot the low-round of the day for Post. He was even after the first nine holes and finished with a five-over 77 and a tie for 81st place. Junior Thomas Rees (Cardiff, Wales) had three birdies and shot a one-under par on the back nine, but finished with a seven-over 79. He is in a tie for 92nd after 18-holes.
 
Sophomore Ross Earnshaw (York, England) is tied for 105th after an opening round 86. Freshman Sebastian Noesgaard (Copenhagen, Denmark) carded a 92 on Tuesday and is in 107th. Freshman Anthony McNamara (Beacon Falls, Conn.) is in 108th place after a 95.
 
Central Oklahoma has a six stroke lead after round one after it shot a nine-under, 279. The Broncos' Josh Creel has the individual lead through 18-holes after carding a seven-under 65. Atlantic/East Regional Champion, Wilmington, shot a 300 and is in 16th place.
 
The Eagles will tee-off round two tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m.
