Mallorie Michalak Named To All-CACC Women’s Lacrosse Second Team

Graduate Student Led Conference In Ground Balls And Caused Turnovers



NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Graduate student Mallorie Michalak (Meriden, Conn.) of the Post University women's lacrosse team was named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Second Team in an announcement made by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Michalak led the conference in ground balls and caused turnovers during the 2012 season.
 
In addition to the conference lead in ground balls (53) and caused turnovers (33), Michalak is ranked fifth nationally in caused turnovers per game and 11th in the country in ground balls per contest. She posted 2.2 caused turnovers per game and averaged 3.53 ground balls per outing.
 
Michalak ranked second on the team in scoring with 31 goals and 42 points in 15 games this year. She was named the CACC Player of the Week on March 14, after she tied the Post single-game record for goals in a game with seven against St. Joseph.
 
Holy Family's Stephanie McNesby was named the 2012 CACC Player of the Year.
