Post Men’s And Women’s Soccer Teams Lauded For Academics By NSCAA

Soccer Programs Among 718 Squads Honored Nationwide





WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's and women's soccer teams were recognized for team academics by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The Eagles' programs received the 2011-12 Team Academic Award. To be honored a squad must maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
 
On the men's side, Post was the lone team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) honored. On the women's side a total of four squads from the conference were lauded including Caldwell, Georgian Court and Wilmington. In total 718 teams were recognized across NCAA Division I, II and III, including 220 men's teams 498 women's teams. Only 149 institutions had both the men's and women's teams honored.
 
The men's soccer team concluded the 2012 season with its first NCAA Tournament berth in program history and was nationally ranked for two weeks during the campaign. The Post women completed the season with an overall record of 4-12 and 3-9 in the CACC.
