Complete Schedule
WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University Athletics Department announced the 2012 lacrosse schedule on Thursday morning. The Eagles, under head coach
Jill Kowalik, will begin their season at home on Thursday, March 1, against in-state rival Bridgeport at LaMoy Field.
“I'm excited for the 2012 season because we have more incoming talent and we've added depth,” Kowalik said. “We've added in-state opponents to our non-conference schedule, including Bridgeport and Southern Connecticut State. With half of our schedule at home at LaMoy Field, we're looking forward to seeing the student body and community come out and support us.”
The women will hit the road and open up Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CACC) play at Philadelphia, who was defeated in the conference championship game last year, on March 11. From there the Eagles will face off at Southern Connecticut State on March 14.
Post will play five of its next six contests at LaMoy Field – the new turf surface on campus - and open up the stretch against Wilmington and Dominican on March 17 and March 20, respectively. The lone away game comes on March 22 at Holy Family. The Eagles are back at home for three games to finish out the month, highlighted by a matchup against defending CACC champion Georgian Court, who finished 12-0 in conference play in 2011, on March 28.
The Eagles then begin a three-game stretch away from home with games at Chestnut Hill, Wilmington, and Georgian Court. The home finale will be played on April 21 against Holy Family. The regular season wraps up on April 25 at Dominican.
Post finished the 2011 season with a record of 1-14 overall and 0-12 in CACC play. The lone victory came in the home opener against Bridgeport 13-10. The Eagles return their second-leading scorer
Mallorie Michalak (Meriden, Conn.) who finished with 25 goals on the year.
