2012 Softball Schedule Announced

Eagles Release 50-Game Slate With Seven Home Dates



WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University Athletics Department announced the 2012 softball schedule on Monday afternoon. Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Tracey Garofalo, a 2002 Post University alumnae, the Eagles will play a 50-game slate with seven home dates in 2012 at the Softball Complex at LaMoy Field.
 
Post begins the 2012 campaign with 10 contests in five days at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. The Eagles will play a pair of games each day, including matchups with West Virginia Wesleyan, Cedarville, Urbana, Northern State, Grand Valley State, Assumption, Saint Joseph's College and Southern New Hampshire.
 
After a doubleheader at the College of Saint Rose on March 14, the Eagles will host Philadelphia University in their home opener on March 18. A doubleheader, Post and Philadelphia will kick off the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) twinbill at 3 p.m.
 
The Eagles will have back-to-back home games on Wednesday, March 21 and Friday, March 23. Post will host Mercy in a 3 p.m., doubleheader on Wednesday, and conference foe Dominican on Friday. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
Following a home conference twinbill against the University of the Sciences on April 7, the Eagles will embark on a road trip for six straight doubleheaders. The stretch starts at UMass-Lowell on April 10 and concludes at Southern New Hampshire on April 19.
 
Post will return home for its final two games of the season – a doubleheader against Chestnut Hill on April 21. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
 
The Eagles went 24-24 overall and 15-11 in CACC play during the 2011 season.
