Eagle Baseball Advances to CACC Championship Game

NEW CASTLE, DE (May 7, 2010) After losing to Dominican 11-7 earlier in the afternoon, Post University's baseball team defeated Wilmington 8-4 to advance to the CACC Championship game.
With
Tim McCarthy starting the game on the mound, it was tied at two after the first inning with a
Tyler Wilschetz double scoring
Dan Luisi and
Brendan Barry. From that point on, Dominican led the entire game en route to an 11-7 victory.
Later in the evening, the Eagles went to battle against Wilmington University for the second time in as many days. The game was scoreless through three innings, but the Wildcats scored one run in the bottom of the fourth taking a 1-0 lead.
In the top of the fifth, the Eagles scored four runs. It started when Wilschetz doubled to score Barry.
Alex Jahn singled to score Wilschetz. Both Jahn and
Travis Locascio scored when Russ Sirko hit a two RBI double to centerfield making it 4-1 Eagles.
Jahn scored again in the top of the 7th after an RBI from
Todd Blair, but Wilmington scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to close the score down to 5-4.
Post University would seal the win when
Jose Reyes scored on a passed ball. Locascio then tripled to center field scoring two runs in Wilschetz and Luisi.
The Eagles will play against Dominican on Saturday and must win two games to win the 2010 CACC Championship.
