Four Eagles Make the All-CACC Baseball Team
2010 All-CACC Baseball Team
New Haven, Conn (May 5, 2010) Post University baseball players Dan Luisi, Brendan Barry, Tim McCarthy, and Dan Steers have been named to the 2010 All-CACC Baseball team. Pitcher Richie Pierro was given an honorable mention.
Luisi made the First All-CACC Baseball Team as a second baseman after breaking Post University’s all-time hit record. Luisi survived the transition from metal to wood bat competition, while the previous record was set entirely with a metal bat.
Barry was also named to the first team as a third baseman, while Steers was a pitcher on the second team. McCarthy made the second team as a relief pitcher.
Dominican had seven players make the All-CACC squad, which the most of any school, while Wilmington had six players named to the team.
Philadelphia’s Tyler Mentzer was named Player of the Year and Wilmington’s Joe Harris Jr. was Pitcher of the Year. Rookie of the Year went to outfielder Joe Petosa of Felician and Wilmington Head Coach Brian August was named Coach of the Year. USP took home team sportsmanship honors.
