Thomas Rees and Amy Mantha Named Post University Athletes of the Week

WATERBURY, Conn (April 26, 2010) Golfer Thomas Rees and softball player Amy Mantha have been named Post University Athletes of the Week. 

Rees (79-76—155) placed 7th in the Yellow Jacket Invitational only six strokes out of first place. The Eagles were second overall without having a practice round on the course before the tournament began and coming off a two week stretch where the team played in three tournaments. 

Amy Mantha kept the softball's playoff hopes alive on Saturday afternoon after leading Post University to a 4-2 win over USP. In the bottom of the seventh with two runners on base, two outs, and the Eagles trailing by one run, Mantha blasted a walk-off homerun over the right field fence.

The golf team is preparing for the 2010 NCAA Regional Golf Tournament in Daniels, West Virginia that will be contested during the first week of May. Softball plays their final regular season games of the season at home on Sunday afternoon against Philadelphia.
