Post University's David McGregor* is currently tied for 17th place after the opening day of the Barton Invitational. McGregor (37-36—73) is one over on the 6,851 par 72 course. The Eagles are currently 10th overall, twenty strokes out of first place.

Thomas Rees (40-37) and Lee Wanklyn (35-42) both shot 77 in the first round putting them in 39th place. Gavin Wilson (41-42) shot an 83. Marchant di Villers (47-37) shot 84 on the opening day.
