Trevon Hamlet and Kenyese Benn Named CACC Rookies of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn (March 8, 2010) Post University's Trevon Hamlet and Kenyese Benn have been named this week's CACC Rookies of the Week. It is the sixth time this season that Hamlet has earned the award, while Benn is being recognized for the first time.

Hamlet led the Eagles in scoring in a first round playoff loss against Bloomfield College on the road. In the game he tallied 24 points, seven rebounds and eight blocks in the CACC Tournament quarter-finals. The eight blocks set a new CACC Tournament record. Hamlet shot 11-for-24 from the field and hit both of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Benn, is a member of Post University's first Women's Lacrosse team and scored two goals in the season opener at American International. She shares the honors with Holy Family's Stephanie McNesby who also scored two goals in her first collegiate game.

Women's Lacrosse will host Philadelphia on Sunday with the opening draw scheduled for 1pm. Post University's Basketball season has come to a close.
