Smith Named CACC Player of the Week; Hamlet Earns Rookie Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn (March 2, 2010) Post University's
Spencer Smith and
Trevon Hamlet swept the weekly awards in the CACC this week. Smith was named Player of the Week for the first time, while it is the fifth time Hamlet garnered Rookie of the Week honors this season.
Smith led the Eagles to a 3-0 week to giving Post University the No.4 seed in the North in the CACC Tournament. Smith averaged 24.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 steals per-game while shooting 53.4-percent from the field. He netted 28 points, five boards and five steals at USP and tossed in 27points. Smith added seven steals at Caldwell.
Hamlet averaged 20.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per-game in three
games last week. He shot 52 percent from the field, including 27 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks at USP. Against Goldey Beacom, Hamlet notched 14 points and 14 rebounds. Hamlet was credited with more Rookie of the Week honors than any other player this season in the CACC
