Aubrey Latham and Spencer Smith Named Post University Athletes of the Week
WATERBURY, Conn (February 15, 2010) Post University’s Aubrey Latham and Spencer Smith have been named this week’s Post University Athletes of the Week.
Latham, a freshman from Mystic, Connecticut who is pursuing a degree in Sports Management, averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds in a 1-1 week last week. In the game against Concordia on Tuesday night, Latham netted 24 points with 18 rebounds. She was also a perfect 15-of-15 from the free throw line last week. Latham has made her last 29 free throw attempts and is now ranked second in the conference from the charity stripe in conference games. Latham is ranked inside the top 100 in free throw shooting nationally.
Spencer Smith carried the Eagles on his back for the last 2:01 in the win
against Holy Family on Saturday afternoon. Smith scored the final eight points for Post University propelling them to an 81-75 victory. Smith scored a game-high 23 points against the Tigers while averaging 17.5 points in a 2-0 week.
Post University Basketball will be back in action again on Tuesday night against Bloomfield on the road. The Eagles travel to play Dominican on Thursday night, before hosting Philadelphia on Saturday.
