Spencer Smith and Nicole Sigona Named Post University Athletes of the Week
WATERBURY, Conn (February 1, 2010) Post University’s Men’s Basketball player Spencer Smith and Women’s Swimmer Nicole Sigona have been named this week’s Post University Athletes of the Week.
In three games last week Smith, a junior from White Plains, NY, averaged 20.5 points in two games and shot 61.9 percent from the floor. Smith also pulled down 6 rebounds per game, while shooting 13-of-14 from the free throw line and dishing out 5 assists.
Sigona competed at the University of Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon taking first place in the 100 meter backstroke. Sigona was also a member of the 200 meter freestyle relay team that took first place. The other Eagle swimmers on the 200 meter freestyle relay team were Anna Kicinska, Alex Putrenko, and Bryan Seaton.
The Men’s Basketball team will be in action again on Tuesday night at home against Nyack, while the Men’s and Women’s Swimming team compete at Regis College.
