Huffine, Jarrett, and McGregor named to CACC All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three of Post Universities student-athletes have been named to the Spring CACC All-Academic team. Senior baseball captain Corey Huffine, sophomore baseball player Sean Jarrett, and sophomore golfer David McGregor were all honored. 

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a spring CACC-sponsored championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester. A total of 219 student-athletes earned All-Academic honors in the fall, winter and spring this year.

In his senior year, Corey Huffine was one of the top infielders in the CACC and was named to the First All-CACC baseball team and to the 2nd East Region Team. 

Sean Jarrett maintained a (.333) batting average in five games this season as a sophomore. Jarrett had the highest GPA of the three student-athletes with a 3.77 GPA pursuing a Management degree. 

David McGregor took home individual honors at the CACC Championship Golf Tournament and was named to the ALL-CACC golf team. He will return next year as a leader on the team with a 3.58 GPA studying to earn a management degree.

Athletes of the Week
Spencer Smith*
Men's Basketball
Spencer Smith guided the Eagles to a play-off berth following a 3-0 week in must win games. Smith scored 24 points per game last week, including a 27 point effort against Caldwell and 28 points against USP. In addition, he also came up with 12 steals.


 
Monique Chance
Women's Basketball
Monique Chance had another productive week for the Women’s Basketball team averaging 14.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds. Chance shot 80% from the charity stripe along with 45.9% shooting from the floor.
