Post Softball Makes Post Season Tournament

NEW HAVEN, CT – For the first time in her collegiate coaching career, second year head coach Tracey Garofalo has earned a CACC post-season berth.  Post is ranked 8th in the 2009 CACC Softball tournament and will play top seeded Dominican in the first round.

“The kids worked hard and they deserve it,” said Post head coach Tracey Garofalo. “Although we are playing the number one team, anything can happen. Dominican is tough to beat because they do not have a weak spot in their lineup and they can hit the ball deep.”

This season Post and Dominican played a double header on April 23rd, less than one week ago. The Eagles fell in both contests. However, freshman second baseman Kim Bentson registered 6 RBIs with one grand slam, her third homerun of the season.

Georgian Court is hosting this year’s tournament and Post is scheduled to play on April 30th at 10am. The three day tournament will be based on a double elimination format.
